Portrait painting really fascinates me a lot because of its degree of difficulty. Painting the human figure in a traditional manner always brings out my outmost joy every time I take the challenge. I want to encourage young generations to engage themselves with arts. It gives us a glimpse of life's beauty despite all the hindrances and setbacks it may give us.
Ariel N. Caratao is a Filipino artist who was born in Cebu City, Philippines, in 1981. He is formally trained and has been awarded multiple prizes in painting competitions, as follows:
